A RED-LETTER DAY

MEANING:- A memorable day; yaadgar din; (यादगार दिन)

EXAMPLES:-

• Friday was a red-letter day for me, I got many b’day gifts from my friends.
• Friday meri liye bhut Khushi ka din tha mujhe mere dosto se bhut sare gifts mile.
• फ्राइडे मेरी लिए बहुत ख़ुशी का दिन था मुझे मेरे दोस्तों से बहुत सरे गिफ्ट्स मिले|

 

• It was an actual red-letter day for me when my son came home after six years.
• Jab mera beta 6 saal baad ghar aaya tab wo mere liye bhut khas din tha.
• जब मेरा बेटा 6 साल बाद घर आया तब वो मेरे लिए बहुत खास दिन था|

 

• When her first book was published, it was a red-letter day for her.
• Jab uski pehli book published hue wo uske liye yaadgar din tha.
• जब उसकी पहले बुक पब्लिश्ड हुए वो उसके लिए यादगार दिन था|

A  HARD NUT TO CRACK

MEANING:- A person or thing that is difficult to deal with, understand, or influence. theedi samasya (टेढी समस्या)

EXAMPLES:-

• The first four questions in the exam were hard nuts to crack.
• Exam me pehle chaar sawal bhut hi mushkil thee.
• एग्जाम में पहले चार सवाल बहुत ही मुश्किल थे|

 

• Kiran finds knitting hard nut to crack.
• Kiran ko bunai bhut mushkil lagti hai.
• किरण को बुनाई बहुत मुश्किल लगती है|

 

• Our new boss is a hard nut to crack.
• Humare naye boss ke sath deal karna bhut mushkil hai.
• हमारे नए बॉस के साथ डील करना बहुत मुश्किल है|

 

• I was already getting late for work stuck in the traffic and to add insult to injury I was stopped by the police for speeding.
• Mai pehle hi office k liye late ho raha tha jaam me fase hue Jale pe namak chidhakne ke liye mujhe police ne tej gaadi chalane k liye rok liya.
• मै पहले ही ऑफिस क लिए लेट हो रहा था जाम में फसे हुए जले पे नमक छिड़कने के लिए मुझे पुलिस ने तेज गाडी चलने क लिए रोक लिया|

 

• First the bathroom flooded and then add to insult injury a tap started leaking.
• Pehle to bathroom me paani bhar gaya aur Jale pe namak chidhakne ke liye nalka leak hone laga.
• पहले तो बाथरूम में पानी भर गया और जले पे नमक छिड़कने के लिए नलका लीक होने लगा|
