Determiners: निर्धारक
Determiners are words that identify which people or things we are talking about. It determines a noun by defining its quantity. The determiner is always placed before the noun. Words such as a, an, the , this, my, some, many etc are called determiners.
निर्धारक वे शब्द हैं जो यह पहचानते हैं कि हम किन लोगों या चीजों के बारे में बात कर रहे हैं। यह संज्ञा को उसकी मात्रा निर्धारित करके निर्धारित करता है। निर्धारक को हमेशा संज्ञा से पहले रखा जाता है। अ, अ, द, यह, माय, कुछ, अनेक आदि शब्दों को निर्धारक कहा जाता है।

He is a good boy.
वह अच्छा लड़का है।
The girl you met is my friend.
तुम जिस लड़की से मिले वह मेरी दोस्त है।
This is the pen I bought yesterday.
यह वह कलम है जिसे मैंने कल खरीदा था।
I have some chocolates to eat.
मेरे पास खाने के लिए कुछ चॉकलेट हैं।
I saw many people going to the market.
मैंने कई लोगों को बाजार जाते देखा।

निर्धारकों की विशेषताएं निम्नलिखित हैं:
- A determiner determines a place, person, or thing.
निर्धारक किसी स्थान, व्यक्ति या वस्तु का निर्धारण करता है।
Examples:

This is my home.
यह मेरा घर है।
He is my friend’s father.
वह मेरे दोस्त के पिता हैं।
I bought these apples.
मैंने ये सेब खरीदे।
- It identifies two or more person or things.
यह दो या दो से अधिक व्यक्तियों या चीजों की पहचान करता है।

There were a lot of people in the park.
पार्क में बहुत सारे लोग थे।
These are the clothes I have.
मेरे पास ये कपड़े हैं।
I don’t have many friends.
मेरे कई दोस्त नहीं हैं।
- Determiners may precede numerals .
निर्धारक अंकों से पहले हो सकते हैं।
Examples:

He has three sisters.
उसकी तीन बहनें हैं।
I have two pens.
मेरे पास दो पेन हैं।
There are 1000 guests invited to the function.
समारोह में 1000 मेहमानों को आमंत्रित किया गया है।
- More than one determiner can be used in a sentence.
एक वाक्य में एक से अधिक निर्धारकों का प्रयोग किया जा सकता है।

His two friends are going out.
उसके दो दोस्त बाहर जा रहे हैं।
These are some apples to be given to the poor.

Rules for Determiners:
निर्धारकों के लिए नियम:
- Determiners come only before a noun in a sentence.
निर्धारक वाक्य में संज्ञा के पहले ही आते हैं।
Examples:
उदाहरण:
Our dog is sleeping.
हमारा कुत्ता सो रहा है।
I need that pen to write the letter.
मुझे पत्र लिखने के लिए वह कलम चाहिए।
Half of the people in the class speak English.
कक्षा के आधे लोग अंग्रेजी बोलते हैं।
- Determiners can also come before an adjective in a sentence.
निर्धारक वाक्य में विशेषण से पहले भी आ सकते हैं।
Examples:

I ate the strawberry ice cream for dessert.
मैंने मिठाई के लिए स्ट्रॉबेरी आइसक्रीम खाई।
Those yellow dolls are my sister’s.
वे पीली गुड़िया मेरी बहन की हैं।
I have some beautiful dresses to wear for the party.
मेरे पास पार्टी के लिए पहनने के लिए कुछ सुंदर पोशाकें हैं।
- Determiners are required before singular nouns.
एकवचन संज्ञाओं से पहले निर्धारकों की आवश्यकता होती है।
Examples:

An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
रोज एक सेब खाओ, डॉक्टर से दूर रहो।
This is the book I was searching for a long time.
यह वह किताब है जिसे मैं लंबे समय से खोज रहा था।
Every student must complete their homework.
प्रत्येक छात्र को अपना गृहकार्य पूरा करना चाहिए।
- Determiners are not optionally used before plural nouns.
बहुवचन संज्ञाओं से पहले निर्धारक वैकल्पिक रूप से उपयोग नहीं किए जाते हैं।

I eat these oranges in winter.
मैं ये संतरे सर्दियों में खाता हूं।
Both the houses are vacated.
दोनों घर खाली हैं।
I have some rice for dinner.
मेरे पास रात के खाने के लिए कुछ चावल हैं।

किसकी भूरी बिल्ली खिड़की से झाँक रही है?
My friend’s brown cat is peeping through the window.
