Learn the meaning of idioms and their use:-

BELL THE CAT

MEANING:- Take the danger of a shared enterprise upon oneself, Bade sankat ka samna karna (बड़े संकट का सामना करना)

EXAMPLES:-

• We need to inform the Minister that it’s his son who has been leaking information to the media. But who is going to bell the cat?
• Humein mantree ko soochit karana hoga ki yah unaka beta hai jo meediya ko jaanakaaree leek kar raha hai.Lekin billi ke gale me ghanti kon bandhega?
• हमें मंत्री को सूचित करना होगा कि यह उनका बेटा है जो मीडिया को जानकारी लीक कर रहा है।लेकिन बिल्ली के गले में घंटी कौन बांधेगा?

• A man is a hero if he can bell the cat.
• Ek aadami ek hero hai agar veh sankat ka samne karne ke liye tayar hai.
• एक आदमी एक हीरो है अगर वह संकट का सामना करने के लिए तैयार हैं |

• She is not good at her work but the question is who’ll bell the cat?
• Veh apne kaam mein achee nahin hai lekin savaal ye hai ki billee ke gale mein kon ghanti bandhega.
• वह अपने काम में अच्छी नहीं है लेकिन सवाल यह है कि बिल्ली के गले में घंटी कौन बंधेगा|

ADDING FUEL TO FIRE

MEANING:- To make an argument or bad situation worse, Aag mein ghee dalna (आग में घी डालना)

EXAMPLES:-

• The discovery that the government was aware of the cover-up has really added fuel to the fire.
• Iss khoj ne ki sarakaar ko kavar-ap ke baare mein pata tha, ne vaastav mein aag mein ghee daala hai.
• इस खोज ने कि सरकार को कवर-अप के बारे में पता था, ने वास्तव में आग में घी डाला है।

• His parents were already angry when he flunked the class. When they saw him drunk, it only added fuel to the flames.
• Jab usane klaas chhodee to usake maata-pita pahale se hee gusse mein the. jab unhonne use nashe mein dekha, to usane aag kee lapaton mein keval eendhan daala.
• जब उसने क्लास छोड़ी तो उसके माता-पिता पहले से ही गुस्से में थे। जब उन्होंने उसे नशे में देखा, तो उसने आग की लपटों में केवल ईंधन डाला|

• At the time she doubted him of cheating on her, seeing him with another girl only added fuel to the flames.
• Jis samay usane use dhokha dene ka shak kiya, us samay use doosaree ladakee ke saath dekhakar aag kee lapaton mein aur ijaapha hua.
• जिस समय उसने उसे धोखा देने का शक किया, उस समय उसे दूसरी लड़की के साथ देखकर आग की लपटों में और इजाफा हुआ।
