PODCAST OF SUBJECT-VERB AGREEMENT IN HINDI

Today we talk about verbs and their type:-

Finite verbs

There are five types of finite verbs:-
1. Transitive
2. Intransitive
3. Auxillary
4. linking verb
5. Phrasal verb

Transitive verb – Transition is going from one side to another side. they need one object otherwise their meaning cannot be clear. A transitive verb is a verb that requires a direct object, which is a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase that follows the verb and completes the sentence’s meaning by indicating the person or thing that receives the action of the verb. Basically, it requires an object compulsory.

EXAMPLES:-

  • He changed his home (Change- action)
  • Usne apna ghar badal liya.
  • उसने अपना घर बदल लिया.

  • He changed his job
  • Usne apni job badal Li.

Intransitive Verb – Those who are not transitioning. basically, they are not going from one side to another. If subject we added the preposition then we can say it’s intransitive. An intransitive verb is not used with a direct object. If something comes after an intransitive verb, that is, in the position usually inhabited by the direct object, it doesn’t answer what? or whom?; instead it answers a question like where? when? how? or how long?:-

EXAMPLES:-

  • The Baby was crying
  • Batcha ro raha tha.
  • बच्चा रो रहा था|

  • I work for a large firm in the company. (for is a preposition)
  • Mai ek badi company mein kaam karta hu.
  • मैं एक बड़ी कंपनी में काम करता हूं।

  • He laughed at me – (laughed is intransitive)
  • Wo mujhpe hasa.
  • वो मुझपे हसा।
