What are Homophones?

Homophones are the same sound, but different spelling. Homo means same and phone means sound.

Homophones Examples and their meaning:-

Fair:- Gora

  • Rajesh is fair than Mohan.
  • Rajesh mohan se gora hai.
  • राजेश मोहन से गोरा हैं|

Fare:- Kiraya

  • Some people don’t give fare to the conductor.
  • Khuch log conductor ko kiraya nhi dete hai.
  • खुछ लोग कंडक्टर को किराया नहीं देते हैं|

Hair:- Baal

  • My hair is brown.
  • Mere baal bhure hai.
  • मेरे बाल भूरे हैं|

Hare:- Khargosh

  • His hare is white and it looks so beautiful.
  • Us ka khargosh saffed rang ka hai aur wo bhut sundar lagta hai.
  • उस का खरगोश सफ़ेद रंग का हैं और वो बहुत सुन्दर लगता हैं|

What is Homograph?

A homograph is a sound different, but the spelling is the same. Each of two or more words spelled the same but not necessarily pronounced the same and have different meanings and origins.

Homograph Examples and their meaning:-

Read:- Padhna (1st form)

  • I read books in the Library.
  • Mai library mein book padhta hu.
  • मैं लाइब्रेरी में बुक पढ़ता हूँ|

Read:- Padha (Past form)

  • I read old books in today’s era.
  • Mai purani kitabee aaj ke dorr mein padhta hu.
  • मैं पुरानी किताबे आज के दौर में पढ़ता हूँ|

Content:- Satisfied/Santusht

  • I feel content when my stomach is full.
  • Mai santusht mehssos karta hu jab mera peit bhara rehta hai.
  • मैं सन्तुष्ट महसूस करता हू जब मेरा पेट भरा रहता हैं|

Content:- Things that are there in something like a Table of content in books or videos.

  • Youtube contents are very useful for those who don’t have money to buy an online course.
  • Youtube contents bhut labhdayak hai un ke liye jinke pass paise nhi hai online course khareedne ke liye.
  • यूट्यूब कंटेंट्स बहुत लाभदायक हैं उन के लिए जिनके पास पैसे नहीं है ऑनलाइन कोर्स खरीदने के लिए|

Desert:- Kisi ko chod dena

  • She deserts him after she caught him that he is dating someone else.
  • Usne usko chodh diya jab usne use pakad liye kisi aur ko date karte hue.
  • उसने उसको छोड़ दिया जब उसने जब उसे पकड़ लिया किसी और को डेट करते हुए|

Desert:- Registan ya Banjar Zameen

  • Rajasthan has so much desert that’s why people have don’t enough water to feed themselves.
  • Rajasthan ke pass bhut banjar zameen hai usi ke karaan logo ke pass pani peene ke liye nahi hai.
  • राजस्थान के पास बहुत बंजर ज़मीन हैं उसी के कारण लोगों के पास पानी पीने के लिए नहीं हैं|

What are Homonyms?

Homonyms are the pronunciation same and the spelling looks like also same. Each of two or more words has the same spelling or pronunciation but different meanings and origins.

Homonyms Examples and their meaning:-

Ring:- Anguthi

  • He forgets his marriage ring in the ring ceremony.
  • Wo apni anguthi bhul gaya apni ring ceremony mein .
  • वो अपनी अंघूटी भूल गया  अपनी रिंग सेरेमनी में|

Ring:- Phone ka bajna

  • He rings you continuously, why don’t you pick up the call?
  • Wo tumhe lagatar call kar raha hai,tum uski call kyu nahi utha rahe ho .
  • वो तुम्हे लगातार कॉल कर रहा हैं,तुम उसकी कॉल क्यों नहीं उठा रहे हो|

Right:- Sahi

  • His wife is always right.
  • Uski biwi humesha sahi hai.
  • उसकी बीवी हमेशा सही हैं|

Right:- Opposite of left

  • Take the right direction when it comes to your carrer.
  • Sahi disha pakdo jab tumhare carrer ki baat ho.
  • सही दिशा पकड़ो जब तुम्हारे करियर की बात हो|
