What are Articles ?
लेख क्या हैं?
Articles are words that come before the noun to show if it is general or specific in meaning. The general nouns use the article “A” .It can also use “AN” if the noun starts with a vowel. The general nouns use the article “THE” to show the particularity of the person, animal, place or thing.
लेख ऐसे शब्द हैं जो संज्ञा से पहले आते हैं यह दिखाने के लिए कि क्या यह सामान्य है या अर्थ में विशिष्ट है। सामान्य संज्ञाएं लेख “ए” का उपयोग करती हैं। यदि संज्ञा स्वर से शुरू होती है तो यह “एएन” का भी उपयोग कर सकती है । सामान्य संज्ञाएं व्यक्ति, पशु, स्थान या चीज़ की विशिष्टता दिखाने के लिए “द” लेख का उपयोग करती हैं।

“A”
“ए”
Article “A” is used to describe the general nouns which start with a consonant. It is also called as an indefinite article. A is also used before words starting with vowels when they sound like the letter ‘Y”.
लेख “ए” का उपयोग सामान्य संज्ञाओं का वर्णन करने के लिए किया जाता है जो एक व्यंजन से शुरू होते हैं। इसे अनिश्चितकालीन लेख भी कहा जाता है। A का प्रयोग स्वरों से शुरू होने वाले शब्दों से पहले भी किया जाता है जब वे अक्षर ‘Y’ की तरह लगते हैं।

I saw a boy standing near the door.
मैंने देखा कि एक लड़का दरवाजे के पास खड़ा है।
He came to give me a letter.
वह मुझे एक पत्र देने आया था।
She ate a bread.
उसने एक रोटी खाई।
She saw a European man.(The word European starts with a vowel but it sounds as Y)
उसने एक यूरोपीय आदमी को देखा। (यूरोपीय शब्द एक स्वर से शुरू होता है लेकिन यह वाई के रूप में लगता है)

“एएन”
Article An similarly to article A is called the indefinite article which is used before a word starting with vowels ,that is a,e,i,o,u. An is also used before words starting with consonant following a vowel where the consonant is silent.
लेख ए के समान लेख ए को अनिश्चित लेख कहा जाता है जिसका प्रयोग स्वर से शुरू होने वाले शब्द से पहले किया जाता है, जो कि ए, ई, आई, ओ, यू है। एक स्वर के बाद व्यंजन से शुरू होने वाले शब्दों से पहले एक का भी प्रयोग किया जाता है जहां व्यंजन चुप है।

उसने मुझे नाश्ते में खाने के लिए एक सेब दिया।
I told her to take an umbrella as it might rain today.
मैंने उससे कहा कि एक छाता ले लो क्योंकि आज बारिश हो सकती है।
I saw an eagle flying today.
मैंने आज एक चील को उड़ते हुए देखा।
Give me an orange.
मुझे एक संतरा दो।
He is an honest man. (The word honest starts with a consonant following a vowel o where the letter h is silent).
वह एक ईमानदार आदमी है। (ईमानदार शब्द एक स्वर के बाद व्यंजन के साथ शुरू होता है जहां अक्षर एच चुप है)।
“THE”
“द”
The is called the definite article. It describes a specific noun . It can be used with singular as well as plural nouns.
निश्चित लेख कहलाता है। यह एक विशिष्ट संज्ञा का वर्णन करता है। इसका उपयोग एकवचन के साथ-साथ बहुवचन संज्ञाओं के साथ भी किया जा सकता है।

He let the cats out.

I visited the Taj mahal last week.
मैं पिछले हफ्ते ताजमहल गया था।

मुझे वह पोशाक दो जो मैंने तुम्हें कल दी थी।
I saw the boy near my house whom you gave money today.
मैंने अपने घर के पास उस लड़के को देखा जिसे तुमने आज पैसे दिए थे।
