Paragraph Reading
Read the following passage carefully. Pay attention to the details.
When you join a corporate company, your employer offers you an annual package called 'CTC' (Cost to Company). However, the amount deposited into your bank account every month is different from your total CTC divided by twelve. Your salary slip details how your total pay is calculated through various earnings and statutory deductions.
Your 'Basic Pay' forms the core structure of your salary, upon which allowances like 'HRA' (House Rent Allowance) and special allowances are added. The sum of all earnings before any deductions is known as your 'Gross Salary'. From this total, mandatory contributions such as 'PF' (Provident Fund) and professional taxes are subtracted. The final remaining amount transferred directly to your bank account is your 'Net Salary' often called your take-home pay. Reviewing your monthly payslip ensures that all deductions are correct and helps you plan your personal monthly budget efficiently.
